SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 26
(By Senators Sprouse, Mitchell, McCabe and Rowe)
Congratulating the Capital High School girls' basketball team on
winning the 2001 Girls' Class AAA championship.
Whereas, The Capital High School girls' basketball team had an
exceptional season which earned it the opportunity to participate
in the 2001 Girls' Class AAA championship playoffs; and
Whereas, The Capital High School girls' team won the 2001
Girls' Class AAA championship; and
Whereas, Terry Ferrell, John Vencill and Jerome Hornbuckle,
the team's coaching staff, are to be commended for their
outstanding leadership ability; and
Whereas, The players on Capital High School girls' basketball
team, including Alexis Hornbuckle, Lisa Lee, Milan Carey, Lasha
Fortson, Keri Blank, Danielle Burkes, Jatina Dyess, Jo Beth
Shrader, Sarah Wiseman, Randi Carey, Jessica Burnett and Blair
Ruddle, are commended for their outstanding athletic ability, team
spirit and sportsmanship; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby congratulates the Capital High School
girls' basketball team on winning the 2001 Girls' Class AAA
championship; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the coaches and each team member of
the Capital High School girls' basketball team.
